Why so much discourse in this forum??

I lurked in this forum until yesterday when I made my first post. I also asked a question today about breakfast buffets. While reading through topics that interest me, I am astonished at the bitterness found in some posts. People call others names like ';trollboy';,grandprick,etc. I don%26#39;t know what precipitated these events, but I do hope no one will attack me for asking questions about Vegas. Thanks for your interest in this post. Any comments are welcome.

Why so much discourse in this forum??

No one%26#39;s going to attack you. As far as the harsh comments some people made yesterday to one person in particular, it%26#39;s better to just not get involved, and don%26#39;t ask. Just try to keep your posts on-topic, think carefully before you post (i.e. don%26#39;t post the same question phrased in different ways 10 times a day). Also, it%26#39;s helpful if you try to search the forum first before posting your question - there is a search feature that does not seem to get utilized very often, and if it did, most people would see that their question had already been answered numerous times. These are just the helpful hints I%26#39;ve learned since joining this forum....

Why so much discourse in this forum??

Oh and P.S. some people tend to post a million questions about Vegas, but never contribute answers to anyone else. It can%26#39;t always be take take take and never give. Know what I mean? Even if you can%26#39;t answer everyone%26#39;s questions, you could at least respond to posts like ';trip-reports'; and say ';thanks for the info!';

The reason for a lot of drama like that is that for some people its fun. Some have a great sense of humor, while other have no sense of humor at all. In one post someone was asking what everyone would like to see in the trip reports. I mentioned that I personally do not care to read how everyones flight was. People jumped all over me regarding that fact. One person who posted that ';ALL airlines Suckk'; complained on and on and on and on about how they almost got bumped. If they would have called the airline and confirmed their flight and gotten seat assignments over the phone that wouldn%26#39;t have been an issue.

But they didn%26#39;t do that, so everyone on the forum had to suffer because they don%26#39;t like it when someone disagrees with their perceprion of reality. Just my opinion.

As for the Troll Hunters, they%26#39;re a harmless bunch.

VM, Troll hunters. Thats a good one. I have a feeling that it will become a forum vocabulary staple.

VegasMan - it%26#39;s getting old, so stop bringing it up. Feel free to go back and review that thread again if you want. I never went ';on and on'; complaining. I mentioned it ONCE, that%26#39;s all. One time. Try to let things go. You%26#39;ll be a happier person.

Go back and read the moronic post that ';Grandprix';, ';Tims42'; ';Disillusioned'; have posted on here and you will find out why he is called Troll Boy. This will take you several days because he has clogged this site up with useless babble.

Anyone can ask questions on this forum, but what gets attacked is questions like this one. It has no informational value to Vegas and is a waste. If people would keep their questions to the topic of Vegas than it would be better.

Not sure how someone who has never been to Las Vegas and needs to ask a ot of questions would be able to contribute anything to this forum. Typing ';Thanks for the info'; Or ';Great report'; is not contributing. At least not in my opinion. Suggestions like that is what clogs the board.

I still say vegasboundsoon is the most recent incarnation of Tim.. where did grandprix go? He disappeared as this poster showed up? Why does this poster use the same phrases and terminology as Tims? How is it that this poster does exactly like tim-post a dumb question, wait to get flamed, then start another thread about how upset he is for being flamed? It%26#39;s tim alright. They must have banned grandprix, and this is his next alias. Pitiful.

';thanks for your interest in my post'; - classic Tim, and part of his sickness that drives him to need constant attention

';any comments are welcome'; - also begging for the attention he so badly needs.

Vegasboundsoon. Are you from W. Virginia? Just asking

Examples of how someone can contribute who has NOT been to Vegas before: ';I can%26#39;t find the website for a certain hotel or restaurant'; Newbie sees the post and thinks ';I was just on that website!'; and posts the URL. Or another example: ';Does anyone know of good deals going on at xyz'; Again, Newbie has been doing research for their trip, and knows about a good deal through a particular website. There ARE ways to contribute this forum without being an ';expert';. Just my opinion. :-)
