Players card for poker anywhere?

At the casinos I visit here in the midwest I give them my players card and they track my play. It is combined with any VP or slot pay and they send me comps %26amp; offers based on all of my play.

I haven%26#39;t noticed anything like that happening in any of the poker rooms I%26#39;ve played at (Bellagio, Aladdin, Monte Carlo, Ballys, Mirage, Golden Nugget, IP, Rio, Flamingo and probably a couple of others I%26#39;m missing)

The only kind of poker comp I%26#39;ve ever earned in Vegas was when we stayed at the Mirage at the poker/casino rate and were given a special card for tracking our time so they could assure that we%26#39;d put in enough hours at the tables to get the discount. I don%26#39;t believe it was related to our players club account in any way.

Do any of the casinos actually track play on player card accounts or are comps only given if you play for hours and talk to the brush or if you arrange for a poker rate room?

Thanks for any insight!

Some of them do. IP tracks your poker play at $3/hr on your card. Orleans also tracks play. I%26#39;d recommend you look at the editor reviews on www.allvegaspoker.com. The comp policies are listed in the poker room reviews.

I don%26#39;t think any poker room awards slot points for poker play. It%26#39;s usually an hourly rate back, or a food coupon, or nothing.

Some people consider the bad beat jackpots, high hand jackpots, or wheel spins comps. I like them, but don%26#39;t consider them comps since they%26#39;re paid for with the $1 jackpot drop.

Thanks for the info, Bigalbr

A lot of casinos offer a ';Poker Rate'; on their rooms. This gives you a discount over the normal room rate. The Orleans gives you $.50 per hour in food comps. At least that was the rate 3 years ago when I worked there.

And thanks to you too, VM!
