Most annoying thing about Las Vegas

I just returned last week from Las Vegas, and I must say, the most annoying thing, even more so than the handbill distributoers and the timeshare salespeople, was that people don%26#39;t know how to behave on moving sidewalks and escalators. There are a lot of these in Las Vegas, more than you see in many other places. I wonder if a lot of the people who come to Las Vegas have just never seen them before.

Moving walkways are called moving walkways not standways. They%26#39;re not conveyor belts. That said, I understand that some people would like to take the time to rest or to gave around at the scenery. However, there is an etiquette to these things.

All too often, I found people standing two abreast chatting away, motionless. I also found people who would just stop altogether when they got to the top of an escalator or the end of the a moving walkway, blocking everyone else coming to the end.

It%26#39;s really very simple. Stand to the right and let people pass on the left. And keep moving after you get off one of these things.

In London, a city teeming with escalators, people have this down. No one blocks people who want to keep moving. Must be good training. In the Las Vegas airport, they even have humorous recordings by celebrities explaining the etiquette of moving walkways. Over and over--I sat next to one while waiting for my flight, so I know. Still, lots of people ignored this simple advice, even as it played over their head.

So when you%26#39;re in Las Vegas, please stand to the right so that others may pass on the left.

Most annoying thing about Las Vegas

I was going to say ';nothing';, but I thought of one thing. OK, two. The first are the people in Vegas who forget how to walk. You will be quickly walking through a casino, mall, whatever and people everyone will be stopping, dead in their tracks to stare at some spectacular Vegas site. We imitate those people, my husband does a great imitation.

Two, Circus Circus. Everything about that hotel is annoying.

Oh, and the traffic on the Strip.

Most annoying thing about Las Vegas

The most annoying thing about Las Vegas to me has to be the people walking on the sidewalks and crosswalks while you are driving. People walking on crosswalks think they still have the right away even when the street lights have changed red and the ';don%26#39;t walk sign'; has been displayed. I see people walking through the crosswalks and have also seen taxi cabs almost running them down. But for this problem, I have to say that I agree with the taxi cab drivers. RUN THOSE PEOPLE DOWN. They deserve to be run down because when the don%26#39;t walk sign appears, the right away isn%26#39;t for people crossing the street but for the cars to move along.

That people block the moving walkways is annoying to me too, however, I have found that when you say, ';excuse me, please'; people are really nice about stepping aside.

Remember, in London most pedestrians are not on vacation. In Vegas 99.9% of pedestrians are on vacation ... this is leasure time for them. Be polite but loud.

Oh, and what annoys me most is that the house always wins and the cocktail waitresses never say yes ... regardless of how charming and handsome I am.

Truman, exactly! Tony from NY

To Beto 712, Are you the new tims 42or what? running down people in the street for jay walking seems a bit strong don%26#39;t you think? No wonder people from LA have a reputation of being short of brain matter. Wow

Only two things:

1. The traffic on the strip. Getting to the Luxor from the Venetian shouldn%26#39;t take 1/2 hour or longer.

2. Having to leave, the last few hours are the worst. I hate that the airport lines are so long they cut my time in Vegas shorter.

Yes - Europeans understand mass transit etiquette BETTER. Why? Because they USE it daily. So when I am in Europe (or anywhere for that fact), I obey the rules. And when I%26#39;m here, I%26#39;m constantly annoyed.

I have yet to be spatted as an ';ugly American'; in Europe. Because I understand the world doesn%26#39;t revolve around ME.

A lesson several folks should take to heart. No matter where you are.

Carry On............

I guess I%26#39;ll have to remember to keep moving. I%26#39;m usually in no great hurry to get anyplace when I%26#39;m strolling on the strip. I also use the escalator to do my walking for me at times, so I%26#39;ll try to remember to keep right.

The most annoying thing about Vegas to me are the are the time share hawks. The card flippers don%26#39;t bother me much.

Truman have you ever tried drinking a little more. I generally get even more handsome and charmin the more I drink. It sure seems like the cocktail waitresses and women in general are digging me then.

Easy to answer -

KIDS in Vegas running around with parents who have no control over their behavior or without a parent anywhere in sight!!

Vegas is NOT for kids!!
