Which buffet for breakfast-Paris or Bellagio?

My wife and her sister and I wil be in Vegas this time next month. After reading many reports about buffets, We have narrowed down our choice for a breakfat buffet to either Bellagio or Paris. Can anyone in this forum who has eaten at both give us their recommendation? Thanks for taking time to respond. We are staying at the Monte Carlo if this makes any difference.

Which buffet for breakfast-Paris or Bellagio?

Paris is a bit better than Belliago IMO. All around great atmosphere, made to order crepes, omelettes, waffles, eggs,...and on and on. You cannot go wrong with either of them. Why not do both?

Which buffet for breakfast-Paris or Bellagio?

depends what you like for breakfast . .

Astute observation Jaco...

Hey Vegasbound...out of all the buffets I%26#39;ve eaten at in Vegas, Paris has been the best, hands down. The only thing about it is that it is very crowded, so expect to stand in line, especially on the weekends. I%26#39;d suggest getting there early.

Bellagio is good also, but not as good as Paris...just my opinion.

Can someone tell me the price of the Paris Breakfast Buffet? It sounds absolutely delicious! And also, maybe tell me what time it goes to each day?

Thank you! :)

PARIS, PARIS, PARIS!!!!

I *loathe* buffets and LOVE Paris breakfast buffet! Everything is so fresh and yummy!!! I believe its around 13 or 14 bux- sooo worth it IMO

sincityhotels.com/restaurants/buffets.html Can answer most of your buffet questions. Only problem is the buffets are listed by the name of the Buffet. You need to know that the Orleans buffet is the French market Buffet and look under French, not Orleans.

Thank you Vegasman, that did answer all of my questions. :)

That%26#39;s a great post, Tim. Which buffet, indeed. Doesn%26#39;t anyone recognize his style of stating and restating and restating his basic info (I%26#39;ll be going in July, I%26#39;ll be in vegas this time next month, I%26#39;ll be there with my partner, I%26#39;ll be there with my wife, her sister, blah blah blah). Here%26#39;s some more evidence that we have tim all over again (and not that I feel at all smart for figuring out his moves-he%26#39;s the biggest simpleton ever to troll this board). From reading different postings in this forum, I have narrowed down my breakfast buffet choices to either Aladdin%26#39;s or the one at the Paris. Can anyone make any comments as to their experiences at either of these? How much do they cost? Are coupons ever available? Thanks for any info! Tim

Definitely Paris if you like fruit covered crepes

Trip Report - MGM 4/16-20

Monday - arrive late, around 11:30pm. Took Coach USA Shuttle to MGM. We bought roundtrip vouchers when booking the trip. I highly recommend it. MGM was the first stop, which was nice instead of having to cart people around from hotel to hotel. Check in was quick and painless - 4 people, 2 rooms. My brother Chris and I went up to the desk, flashed our pearly whites and got an upgrade without even asking. We were originally in the West Wing, but were now in the Bungalow Queen Suites. Hotel is absolutely beautiful, clean, plenty to do. It is huge, but not to the point where you could get lost for hours like everyone makes it seem. Everything%26#39;s clearly labeled. We went up to our rooms, extremely close to all the action. I was a floor lower than my brother and his friend - no big deal though. By the time we changed it was around 1, so we went down to the casino and did some gambling - ended up $30. After that, my bf and I lounged out in Zuri and had some

drinks. Good atmosphere and not too loud - drinks are expensive. Went up around 4am. Beds very comfy - didn%26#39;t toss and turn, unless my bf had the thermostat down to below 0.

Tuesday - hung at the pool during the day. Took about 10 minutes to get there, but not a big deal. Plenty to oogle at on the way down there - tons of restaurants and stores. I intended

to eat at Craftsteak if I was up, but had a continuous losing streak - too bad. Maybe next time. Multiple pools to choose from and plenty of seats. Weather was gorgeous and drink

service was quick. Got burnt despite using lotion, but quickly turned to tan. After changing, we walked over to the price tix and were regretfully informed that we couldnt get the tickets b/c Star Trek closes at 6:30 on weekdays and they cant sell the tickets past 5:30. Foiled my plans. We walked the Strip anyway. Word of advice, dont wear a shirt with the name of a town on it youll get approached by like 500 people. Bf had a Phillies Jersey on and got quickly annoyed by the hey you from Philly?? We walked the Strip and checked out a bunch of hotels. Wynn is absolutely gooorgeous. Maserati dealership wish I could own one of those. Awesome view of the golf course from the monorail. We ended up going to the Hilton anyway and checking it out. Very small casino lost some money on roulette. Ate at Quarks Bar %26amp; Restaurant. My bro and his friend met up with us there. Food was good, waitress a little spacey but I assume its the whole act. We all shared a huge 60 oz. drink w/ 10 shots of different

rums, which made us pleasantly giddy. We left and went to NYNY to the Piano Bar. Very lame crowed too old for my taste, sorry Im only 23. Bunch of drunk people in their 40s singing along to Billy Joel. Went upstairs to Coyote Ugly (I was with 3 guys and they all wanted to go). Overrated. The bartenders dance like every hour they should be the whole time since theyre the hot ones. Bunch of average chicks from the crowd hop on the bar and act like amateur strippers without the stripping, acting like lesbians and hoping to get a roar from the crowd (composed of 90% men). Back to MGM and into Studio 54. Free for females and males staying at the MGM - otherwise males are 15 (on weekdays). It was a lot of fun b/c it wasnt too crowded so we could actually breathe. My crew didnt dance b/c they feared looking dumb (who cares?!) so I was the only one out there. Quickly mauled by 3 men wanting to dance with me, so I did. After a while they got a LIL too close if ya know what I mean so I left and went to the bar, only to get approached by another guy. I mouthed the words help me to my friend Randy and he rescued me. Gotta love men. Fun times.

Wed Got up and checked out the Lion Habitat. Saw 2 small ones during the day and 2 larger females later on. Very cute and close up. Always a crowd, but hey its free. Ate at the Studio Caf for lunch. Small menu but food was real good. Picked up for Hoover Dam tour at 1:15 relaxing ride, beautiful sites. Its amazing how powerful the Dam is. Theres this legend that if you rub all 10 toes of 2 statues youll get good luck for 24 hrs. Learned thats a bunch of bull. Ate at a fancy Chinese place around 7:30 Pearl, located on Studio Walk at MGM. Excellent service, very attentive, comfy atmosphere. Food was tasty but nothing to die for. Headed to the Stratosphere via the monorail. Monorail was great for getting around, primarily b/c one of the stops was MGM. Only 3 bucks/trip which is much cheaper than a cab. Dumped us off at the Sahara and we walked over. Went on the rides, minus the lame roller coaster. New ride Insanity is fun, feel like youre going to fall off and plummet to your death. Get a little dizzy, but excellent view. Went to Fat Tuesday after to get some 190 Octane. One of those will have you near drunk. Back to NYNY to check out Piano Bar again I declined to go in and had a slice of pizza adjacent to it pretty tasty. Checked out Big Apple Bar had a fun R%26amp;B group singing/dancing on stage. Fun times, but quickly got sick of the music as Im not a huge fan. Back to MGM where no one could agree on something to do the perks of traveling with a group so we all did our own thing. I lost $ and went to bed upset.

Thurs - pool during the day - another gorgeous day, near 100. I figured I should eat something, so I went over and ate at the Grille by the pool. Huge cheeseburger and fries, very tasty. I notice I really have no appetite while in Vegas. After that I went up to shower because I felt my skin burning and changed. Bf and I walked over to Excalibur and took the tram to the Luxor. Gambled a bit - lost. Got ID%26#39;d about 800 times. Bf and I did one of those cheesy photos where you put your head on someone else%26#39;s body. We did Shrek %26amp; Fiona - too funny. Blue Man Group at 7 - awesome show, both loved it and were laughing a lot. Sat about 4 rows up in the ';poncho'; section. Didn%26#39;t get hit with any paint or food, so don%26#39;t be afraid to sit up close b/c it%26#39;s an awesome view. Got to meet the guys afterwards, not like they said anything. Went upstairs for some yard long margaritas and saw the IMAX show Haunted

Castle. It was pretty cool - a good way to kill an hour. I think the Shark 3D one looks like a fun time. Afterwards went back to MGM and met up w/ my brother and his friend. No one could agree on something to do, again. Bf wanted to play slots, I wanted to hang out at a bar and relax, and the other 2

wanted to go to Studio 54. I hung with my bf by the slots and watched him win, along with everyone next to them. Those Family Feud slots located next to La Femme Bar pay VERY WELL. After a while I got pretty bored so I left and went to roulette - lost again, what else is new. I came back to

find my bf still at the slots and sloppy drunk so I just went back to the room.

Friday - check out at 11, bf wouldn%26#39;t wake up. Left around noon and they didn%26#39;t seem to care. Ate at the Rainforest Cafe - good eats. After that, went over to 1/2 price tix for the Star Trek Experience. It was $23pp if I can remember correctly, instead of the 40 or so you%26#39;d pay at the Hilton. We saw Mini Me at the Coke store, taking photos with people for money. I see where his career has gone. Took the monorail to the Hilton and checked out Star Trek - I had a good time even though I%26#39;m

not a fan at all. The experiences are interactive and fun - but I%26#39;d never pay full price for it. You can do it as many times as you want, but we choose not to. Left and went back to MGM. Hung out in the SportsBook for a while. Disappointed they weren%26#39;t showing the Mets game - no one was, not even NYNY. It was blacked out, so must%26#39;ve been on the YES Network or something. Stayed there anyway because I was beat. After a while, I left the boys there and walked over to NYNY to bet my

last 40 bucks on roulette - lost again, after being up. I just can%26#39;t learn to walk away! At least the dealer TALKED and was teaching the newbies how to play. That was nice after all of the robot dealers at MGM. Of course 29 black, the # I was playing the whole time comes out as soon as I%26#39;m out

of money. Figures. Walked back and hung out until we had to leave for the airport. As we%26#39;re walking to the lobby, my brother says ';here put 20 on 29 black.'; I laughed and told

him he was crazy, so he just put it on black. 29 black comes out - we all fell to the floor in a shriek. That%26#39;s Vegas for ya. Bellhop brings out my bags and I wanted to tip him, but I really had no money left. He actually stood there with his hand out! I thought that was pretty rude and gave him 2 bucks to get him

to go away. A different bellhop did the same thing to my brother. Went to Fat Tuesday to get a refill on my 190 Octane. I wanted to be able to sleep on the plane and without that I wouldn%26#39;t have been able to. Took the shuttle to the airport - waited an hour to check in our bags and 20 minutes in security. I was ready to pass out before we even boarded.

Red eye flight - slept like a baby.

Trip Report - MGM 4/16-20

Ouch - not even one comment. Was it too long or too boring? :x

Trip Report - MGM 4/16-20

It was a very good report, I just think it got pushed back and noone got a chance to read. Defintely one of the best reports I%26#39;ve read!

I agree.... It%26#39;s a good report... very informative (i.e. touristy bars to avoid)... It just got kicked back...

I liked your report too. Sounds like you got to do quite a bit of the town. Too bad the gambling wasn%26#39;t better for you. What would you have gotten if he had bet on black 29? Much more than double I take it.

Great review.

Thanks

I loved your honest assessments of the bars ! What a hoot.

Hey, some of us old folks actually like Billy Joel :-)

Mini - me too funny, when we were there last time Pete Rose was signing autographs , glad to see he is in the same category as Mini - Me now !

Roulette is evil isn%26#39;t it ?

Numbers pay 35 to 1 so $700 I suppose....

Yep 700 bucks *Cry* Roulette IS evil, especially since #%26#39;s seem to come out once you%26#39;re out of $.

What is a 190 Octane?

Great report, fun to read!

Sounds like you guys consumed a lot of alcohol, lost quite a bit of money, but had great fun doing it!

That%26#39;s what Vegas is all about, right?

  • wholesale cosmetics
  • Bottle service at Las Vegas clubs/lounges

I want to reserve a table for a large group at one of the nice clubs (e.g. Mix, Ghost Bar, etc). Can anyone tell me how the bottle service works and the typical charges? Thanks

Bottle service at Las Vegas clubs/lounges

Check the MIX post, I think most of them work the same way.

Bottle service at Las Vegas clubs/lounges

I would be interested in this too, just curious not like I would do it. Kids are very different today, seem to think nothing about dropping $20 cover charge and buying $10 martinis in the clubs. When I was in my 20%26#39;s it was a 12 pack in the room and off to slots of fun.

    Pools open for nightswimming?

We%26#39;ll be staying at the Nugget in June and was wondering if the pools are open all night or daytime only? And until what time approx.?

    Pools open for nightswimming?

Don%26#39;t Know about the Nugget but most of the pools are only open til around 6:00 pm for swimming.

    Pools open for nightswimming?

I%26#39;ve never stayed anywhere where the pools are closed by 6pm. That is so early! Is that just a Vegas thing and why is that?

Yeah I think there are liability issues and if you are at the pool you are not gambling. That is why I qualified the statement with Swimming, some pools have gambling on their decks. I am not positive about the 6 pm thing maybe VHM or other experts can shed some light on swimming in the dark.

    Very clever Jimi!

    Thanks I thought so too.

    funny...

This is a good question though.. I%26#39;d like to know if any hotels on the strip have pools open past 6pm......

I know at Palace Station their hot tub is open 24/7, and I%26#39;m pretty sure you can use the pool as well....

    TI closes at six.

Tropicanna has at least one pool that is open 24 hours.

The pool at the Venezia Tower in the Venetian is also

    open 24 hours.

Okay, so if your not a guest at that hotel I take it you can not swim there either?

    Bumped

    Today's Vegas weather forecast

vegas.com weather report says that it is 104 deg. Are they for real ??

Is it realy that hot !!

I new it would be hot when we are there in early June , but I was thinking more 95- 100 max.

    Was I wrong ?

    Thanks !

    15 days until veags !!

    cp

    Today's Vegas weather forecast

Yes it is that hot today. Came on all of a sudden. 2 weeks ago, maybe less we still had highs of 78-82.

    Today's Vegas weather forecast

More like 101 at my house. Phoenix hit 103. Once the heat hits here, it tends to stick around here until like September. I am sure will will have a few cooler days, but the heat is on.

    Thank You !

Where I live in the Interior of British Columbia it can hit 40 C / 104 F late July early August. Have my shorts packed and am ready for the heat !!

The count down is on !!

love your weather vegas guys.count down---5 days til vegas!!!

111+ yesterday in Phoenix. Supposed to be about the same today. Both record-breakers for this time of year.

Las Vegas usually measures 5-10 (or more) degrees cooler.

    Especially in the night time.

But hey, its a dry heat even if people explode on the streetwalks.

yeah, it%26#39;s really that freakin hot here...lol

Today is a ';keep your pets indoors%26#39;%26#39; day....

I can%26#39;t wait... 22 days and countin... June 14th to the 21st. Taking the wife and 2 daughters. Staying at the Palace Station. Should be fun!!!!!

OMG! I cannot believe how hot it is there! I%26#39;m in southern BC and we%26#39;ve been dealing with major rain lately. To go from overcast and chilly to desert conditions is going to be nuts! Well, time to get out the sunscreen I guess. Only 3 more sleeps!!

look on the bright side-you can get some eggs from the walgreens and fry them on the sidewalk for breakfast. Bacon works well too. Having been raised in Phoenix, I guess it doesn%26#39;t bother me as much as it could. I always work the hat/sunblock/shades and pop from casino to casino to get cooled down every so often. I have not done the pool areas recently, because the water is too warm to even be refreshing. Anyhow-burn baby burn, it%26#39;s a Vegas inferno!

It looks like all the BC%26#39;ers are counting sleeps (we%26#39;ve got 25 more sleeops to Vegas). We%26#39;re on Vancouver Island and we%26#39;ve been having a fair amount of rain too. Although (and I hate to bring this up and I hope I%26#39;ve been misinformed), but isn%26#39;t May the start of rain season ? Someone please tell me I%26#39;m wrong - it%26#39;d be nice to have some nice dry hot weather.

    The Mix at Mandalay Bay

I want to bring my g/f to a nice restaurant. What will I expect to pay for dinner at this restaurant????

    The Mix at Mandalay Bay

It has been a while since I was there but it hink dinner for two w/Appetizer , dessert and Wine was around $150.00

Aks for a patio table if the weather is good. The lounge really does have the best view. We arrived early and had cocktails in the lounge and after dinner drinks later.

Try to schedule your dinner for around sunset and you can get great daylite as well as nitetime views.

    The Mix at Mandalay Bay

We paid $180 for two people when we were there in April.

It was great. I highly recomend it.

Does anyone know how the bottle service works at Mix and how much it is?

Bottles start at around $250.00 for the cheapest stuff and on up for anything potable.

Not sure exactly how it works but if you want a table after a certain time of night, around 10:00pm, you have to buy a bottle.

They will serve most mixers included with the price of the bottle.

The food is fabulous here and so are the views - if you ask for them! Ask for either a patio table or for one at a window - if not, chances are you%26#39;ll get stuck in the middle with no view. I went with a party of four and found the staff very attentive. Along with our food, we were also given several free desserts on top of our meal for no reason at all. Our bill came to around 300. After our dinner we were given free access to the nightclub next door - the music wasn%26#39;t to my taste, but the views from the patio were even better than the restaurant. Try to grab one of the ';beds'; if you can.. it helps if you slip security some green!

    Flamingo or Bally's?

In a previous post, most people told me Treasure Island, but we want to be a little more central. We are travelling w/ other couples and need to compromise on hotel price. Don%26#39;t need a lot of amenities, but location is #1. These are some 3 stars that are in the price range that everyone is willing to spend:

    Flamingo

    Bally%26#39;s

Barbary Coast (small boutique hotel, but good reviews)

Can anyone tell me which one they would go with as far as cleanliness, and the least ';shady'; or ';skanky'; of the above 3?

thanks in advance for any advice to this vegas newby.

    Flamingo or Bally's?

Although Barbary Coast has a nice restaurant for breakfast, I would rule out staying there. I found Bally%26#39;s to be excellent. The hotel is connected to Paris so you have two hotel casinos to be in as well as shops and eateries.

Bally%26#39;s is across from Caesar%26#39;s and Bellagio%26#39;s so the location is perfect. In addition, Alladin which is on the other side of Paris has a nice set of shops as well.

If you go out to the Bally%26#39;s website and sign up for email, they will be able to show you prices etc.

Remember to sign up for the Connection card for Flamingo and/or Bally%26#39;s. Barbary Coast has the ';Coast'; card for comps in their chain.

    Enjoy!

    Flamingo or Bally's?

Bally%26#39;s, but be sure to request a renovated North Tower room when you check in.

I like the flamingo, it%26#39;s doors open right up to the strip so it%26#39;s a little more easy to acess after a long day of walking. Bally%26#39;s, i think is a little outdated and is still trying to play that wave of the future style. Like Spcaceship earth in Epcot center. But im a 20-something. If you want a good price and a centrally located hotel try the jockey club as well. these are more condo like rooms that many people use as time shares, so you get a liitle more cozy feeling. these is no casino in the building but your rigt next to the Belagio and across from Alladin and Paris.

Barbary Coast is the better deal. if u play the tables , u can get comps easier than at the other places. Coast casinos is not as difficult Be sure to get a players card and a ';';pit card';'; for craps.

Ballys is by far the best - fabulous views across to Caesars and the Bellagio

Naaahhh! Bally%26#39;s exterior ';people mover'; is cheesy, but inside the hotel Bally%26#39;s looks and feels much more upscale than its sister property, Flamingo.

Plus its access to Paris (another sister property that%26#39;s more upscale than both) is the deal-maker. From Bally%26#39;s North Tower elevator bank it%26#39;s almost as short a walk to the Paris buffet and cafe as it is to the Bally%26#39;s buffet. You really do get two scenes for the price of one.

Yipes, I spend too much time writing. My ';Naaahh'; is directed at Mtrek and his endorsement of Flamingo.

    Bally%26#39;s all the way.

Definitely Bally%26#39;s. It has huge rooms, it is inexpensive, and it has a great strip location. All of it%26#39;s restaurants are good. The pool is okay, nothing to brag about but it is very big. Bally%26#39;s also connects directly to Paris so you get twice the hotel amenities for the price of one.

Not too sound like a broken record... but really it depends on what you are going for.

Flamingo has a way better pool than Bally%26#39;s and Barbary coast has no pool.

Bally%26#39;s casino has a more upscale feel than either of the others in my opinion.

I would say all three have equal out of date room decor. However, some folks like the victorian themed rooms at Barbary Coast.

In my experience pricing hotels Barbary Coast is usually the cheapest of the three. Barbary Coast also houses one of the most expensive restaurants in town: Michael%26#39;s.

I have stayed at both and both are ';passable.'; Bally%26#39;s might be a little better. The Flamingo is the older of the two (by far) -- but neither are really ';new hotels.'; Ballys has a ';slightly'; better location, but both are within a hundred feet or so of each other, so it is a ';toss-up'; there.
