We are staying at Bellagio and celebrating a birthday . How is the food , service and ambiance at the Prime Steakhouse? Any other suggestions on a better steakhouse restaurant ?
Prime Steakhouse ?
Ate there first week of May, for our 25Th anniv. Decor/ambiance is superb. Some, not all tables have a view of the fountains, but as you are staying there, it isn%26#39;t too important. Food was excellent, service polished and professional. Wine list very good. Make reservations well ahead as despite the astronomical prices, it fills up regularly. You can%26#39;nt go wrong selecting Prime for a special night.
Prime Steakhouse ?
I love this restaurant. I eat there everytime in Vegas (about once every 2 months).
The bar is in the entry and is small but nice. Maybe 6-8 seats...they make a nice martini.
The dining room is gorgeous. Heavily draped in cornflower blue and chocolate brown....
It feels somewhat ';clubby';, but the clientele is very mixed in age...it is a little noisy with everyone talking, but it adds to the energy of the place.
There are very few tables along the window line to see the fountains and they are often reserved for V.I.P.%26#39;s by the casino.
I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong anywhere you sit. What I would do is ask if you can sit on the patio while having dessert...they are very happy to accommodate you.
The food is really great. Great steaks...everything is a la carte...they have some interesting side dishes...one of them we like is garbanzo bean fries.
They have a shrimp appetizer that is also wonderful.
The wine list is very extensive and very expensive. We drink high end wine and found that they are over priced from what we are used to paying in upscale restaurants by about 150%. OUCH!
Service is very nice....sommelier a bit pretentious the last time we were there.
The only place I have had a better steak was recently at THE MIX at THE Hotel at Mandalay.
I was really surprised....its not necessarily known for steaks, but this little filet was absolute perfection. And the service was really over the top.
The dining room at MIX is completely different than Prime, but it has the most awesome view of any restaurant in Las Vegas...I mean truly spectacular. I would have such a hard time choosing between these two...so this weekend I am going to both.
You can%26#39;t go wrong with either of these for a special birthday.
Oh, and check out N9NE at The Palms.
I think they have a menu on their website.
Its also wonderful....not as upscale as MIX and PRIME. But they have great steaks and really good salads. The bar is really fun there....champagne and caviar.
Travelwriter that was sooo much help. Thanks .I requested a window because it is my husbands birthday . What are my chances of getting it or should I call back ?
Chances very slim.
No, you would have to request a window table. I suggest calling ahead and they will put in your request but no guarantee. Then I would call the General Manager%26#39;s office (I usually talk to Jill Leatham) and tell her of your special celebration and see if they can do something for you. If you are not dining at peak time (like 8 pm), they might be more willing to accommodate you.
If you really want the best view and I think equally as good food, you will have an excellent chance at getting either a window table or an outdoor table at MIX.
You cannot go wrong at this restaurant. Even if you do not end up here and eat at PRIME instead, please take your birthday guest here for a drink.
It is completely worth the effort to go.
';Any other suggestions on a better steakhouse restaurant ?';
Certainly, try the best in town and number 1 ranked place in town the Steakhouse at CC. It is far less expensive.
Our reservation was at 7pm on a wednesday. We arrived at 6:45 asked for a window seat, got it immediately. So it may depend on what night you go as to whether or not they have a window seat available.
If it is available then they will provide it.
Perfect view of the fountain show. Great dining experience in all aspects.
Also, in response to your other post, we went to %26#39;O%26#39; the same night and it was amazing. Haven%26#39;t seen Mystere so I cannot compare, but this show was the best show I have seen.
In between dinner and show, we went upstairs to the Fontana Bar to have a drink on the patio and watch the fountain show lakeside. The show never got old, it is different everytime. We probably saw it 10-12 times throughout the night!
Have fun.
