Will be in Vegas from 07/01 - 07/05 for a family reunion. We%26#39;re staying at the Luxor and would like information on shows that would be appropriate/entertaining for children. We have a 7-year-old son and we were thinking about seeing The Blue Man Group, Lance Burton and Mystere. Oh, and don%26#39;t worry, we%26#39;re not gamblers and don%26#39;t intend to be out late dragging our child behind us. As I said, a family reunion brings us out. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Shows for families
Blue Man Group might be a good choice out of those three. IMO it%26#39;s upbeat, fun, and your son would probably think their antics on stage are funny. I had my hesitations when we went (personally thought it was going to be silly) but I had a really good time and didn%26#39;t see a single person leaving without a smile on their face.
Shows for families
Was at the Excalibur show this past year. Should be good for your family.
i have never been to vegas before. i am going in early august. i am taking my 5 year old daughter to lance burton magic show. i hear that lance burton picks kids out of the audience to help with his performance. it sounds cool. i already bought my tickets and got main floor tickets, row A seat 20 through whatever. not sure exactly where this is. i think it%26#39;s to the far left of the stage. also, i am still deciding on whether to stay at the luxor or monte carlo. it%26#39;s between those two.
I agree with bootsie. He is a good show also. Forgot about him.
We picked Luxor because it was within our budget and has more going on, i.e. video game arcade, IMAX theaters, King Tut exhibit, great food court for quick bites to eat, 4 pools, the Blue Man Group and just the overall theme. Plus, it%26#39;s linked to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. We%26#39;ll be at our family reunion two days out of the five, so we wanted activities within the hotel. I%26#39;m thinking Lance Burton would be a good pick as well. Thanks for the input.
Lance Burton is a good show. He does pick a kid from the audience and brings them on stage.
My daughter was picked several years back. They took a picture while she was on stage and Mr. Burton gave her a nice magic kit.
They chose the my daughter before the show while we were waiting to ge into the theater. A lady walked up and asked if she would like to participate.
Also, Rick Thomas(magician) is a nice afternoon show at a reasonable price for your son. He is now playing at the Stardust.
The Tournament of Kings is a great takeine for all ages. We had app. 30 people from ages 12 to 80 that enjoyed it. Dinner was cornish hens, soup was slirped, everything was with no utensils which was fun for the kids. The kings joust on horses and it is an interactive cheering by the audience. I would see the exhibit of animals at the MGM. For $12 you can see the dolphins at the Mirage--great exhibit. Also at the Mirage are the animals from Siegried and Roy%26#39;s exhibit. Bellagio fountains are pretty and free to see. Not sure if Mystere is too young for the seven year old. Circus circus also has a great place for kids.
We stayed at Excalibur for the reunion which had about 50-60 people--half of which went to the Tournament show.
The King tut exhibit was great.
Excalibur has a great videio place for the kids.
If you have a car, the laser light show at the Fremont experience at night would be fun for the seven year old.
Enjoy!
Definately the Tournament of Kings at the Excaliber!! Like the previous poster said on their 2nd floor they have magic/puppet acts, arcade games, etc. Also they may enjoy the amusement park/circus acts at the Circus Circus.
bump.....
I would suggest two you picked Lance Burton %26amp; Blue Man Group and there is a fun afternoon show in Harrah%26#39;s which is a comedy magic show called ';Mac King';. Also I have been to the Excalibur Tournament show many times and that is great family fun. And do not forget the free shows at Excalibur at the Court Jester Stage and the free Circus act at Circus Circus!
