Which casino is best to lose money in?

We are 2 weeks away from our 25th annv trip and just curious which casino is the best to play blackjack and the slots.we are staying at Venetian and dont want to have to go to far to play. My husband likes $5.00 tables. I like the adam family nickels slots the best always seen to win 300.00 to 400.00 win I play.

Thanks

Linda

Which casino is best to lose money in?

San Remo has just the type of gaming you are looking for. Venetian%26#39;s limits are $10.00 table games and Quarter slots.

Which casino is best to lose money in?

Aladdin has $5 tables on weekdays, and adam family slots. They also by far have the best drink service on the strip.

You can find nickle slots at the Venetian but your hubby will be hard pressed to find any $5 table action there.

Casino Royale next door has $5 tables but its kind of a dump ( some folks like that though ) , further down the strip O%26#39;Sheas , Barbary Coast and Imperial Palace have some lower limits on tables.

You can just jaunt north on the strip to the Stardust and others up there for $5 table action.

Sahara will give each of you a funbook with 10$ matchplay for tables, and 10$ for free slot play. Over two people, it%26#39;s not bad. Although if you are staying at the venetian, I doubt this makes any difference ;)

That is what you call a paradox when you stay at the Venetian and play slots and $5 blackjack. You only have one 25th so have fun and do not worry about the limits.

Players Club / Comps

My wife and I, and all my friends for that matter, are just about as far away from being high rollers as you could get. We LOVE Vegas though. My wife and I are coming to LV in July and I will be back in January for a bachelor party. I was wondering if anyone has any comments about the easiest/cheapest casino for getting comps. We are both into Black Jack but I mostly play Video Poker.

A big ';THANK YOU!'; to all who reply!

Players Club / Comps

If you play at the casino you are staying at, you are more likely to get comped. I stayed at the aladdin, and got 4 buffets comped, only playing blackjack $10-$15 a hand. The pit boss said that for people not staying there, they need a minimum of 4 hours rated table play to talk about comps.

Players Club / Comps

I just returned from Wynn. Played plenty of .25 video poker and about 4 hours $10. blackjack, 30 min. $15. Blackjack. They comped $115.00 of my hotel charges.

Just make sure that you put all restaurant charges on your room so that they%26#39;ll have something to take off.

Good luck!

Wynn lets you use your players card at all tables, not just $25.00 and above like some other casinos.

You may want to check out one of the Frugal Gambler books for more info for comps for lowrollers.

I would agree that playing primarily at one casino is a good start. You earn the most players card points for playing slots with vp second because the casino can track exactly how much you are gambling. The megarasort casinos don%26#39;t comp well for table games unless you are betting alot per hand.

  • neutrogena
  • Preakness in 10 min

    who do we like ?

just got back from a 3 hr drive to bet. So it better be Afleet Alex or the kids don%26#39;t eat tonite

    Preakness in 10 min

    To funny :)

    Preakness in 10 min

The kids can eat well tonite.

    What a race!!

Sure hope you cashed large enough to warrant the 3 hr. drive back to get your money...

That was a good one, I was holding my breath when Alex stumbled ! As a person that has ridden thoroughbreds at high speed , you dont want that to happen to ya !

Good finish , Giocomo did better then I thought.... not a bad horse.

just slightly more than the price of driving. But the thrill of watching you win in your own living room is priceless

yes when alex stumbled and gained ground at the same time was awesome, wow what a stud !

What happened to Alex that he stumbled? Did the number 5 horse move in front on him and trip him? Did he hit the number 5 horse in the hind quarters? I watched the race from Delaware Park and still can%26#39;t figure it out. I was worried about the horse too. Thank God he didn%26#39;t fall!

What a horse race! I%26#39;m sure there will be an inquiry. Did not have any money on this one. Glad you got your money back snk.

We had money on High Limit and Going Wild and they were out of the gate and ahead about 1/2 the way....then ofcourse, as our luck would have it...they fell back fast.

Scrappy T. was being ridden by a jockey who had never ridden that particular horse and hit the horse on the opposite side of where he is used to being smacked...he over reacted to the opposite side and caused Alex to be cut off....

The slow mo on this is so amazing to watch...they are all so fortunate no person or horse was injured.

it was exciting and over so fast.

    Why big bathrooms

I read in so many post about big bathrooms or the bathroom was small. What is the obsestion with a big bathroom? For me I get up in the morning do number 1 or 2 or both, take a shower, and brush my teeth. Then I am out of there.

Why do some of you like a big bathroom so much?

    Why big bathrooms

Let me guess, you are a guy. You see when women go to Vegas we travel in groups. We want to make sure that more than one person can get ready at the same time.

    Why big bathrooms

I posted that which you speak of. My answer to you - I%26#39;m just an open space guy myself. Can%26#39;t stand enclosed areas and the more room the better . .. .for instance, if anyone saw Apprentice last night, that 65,000 sq. ft. ';remodel'; would be about just the right amount of ';space';. Not an obsession though.

I have a bit of claustrophobia, not when I am in a small place like an elevator or in a crowd. I just can%26#39;t stand to be squooshed from top to bottom, so I really hate to get in a shower where I can touch the ceiling. Always said that if a bad guy or ';monster'; broke into my house, I would say,';Do what you want to me, but there%26#39;s no way I%26#39;m getting under that bed.'; (You know how in all the ';B'; horror movies the victim hides under the bed?) Anyway, I%26#39;ve stayed in some hotel rooms that had showers with very low ceilings. My husband and I enjoy the nicer, large bathrooms because we usually get ready at the same time. Could be a throw back, too, to my early childhood when we did not have a bathroom. We had an outhouse and my mother bathed us in a large washtub. What luxury a real bathroom was, when we finally moved into a house with one when I was about 5.

Theres a lot more you can do in the %26#39;can%26#39;, and some things just need a little elbow room.

    Viva !!!!

    Crazy,

    This is true!!

LVEscape: Loved your comments...the younger generation simply does not understand what we went thru as youngsters....Brought back memories of the ';Outhouse'; ...no indoor toilets...the old ';sears'; catalog, etc...wasn%26#39;t til I was 5 years old when we moved from Mossyrock (Yeah, that%26#39;s right, Mossyrock), Washington that I experienced the indoor toilets....Ever since, I have had at least 3 bathrooms in my houses, and when I go to Vegas, I want a huge bathroom...I don%26#39;t want to sit on the pot and have the door in my face...I don%26#39;t return to hotels with small bathrooms...jj

Love the big bathrooms..The Venetian has a wonderful bathroom and that is why we stay there..You are on vacation..relax enjoy..live a little. Space is a good thing.especially when more than one person is trying to get ready to go out.....

I don%26#39;t need a big bathroom. However, my bathroom is so cramped at home that when I travel and I have a hotel with a huge bathroom, it adds to the sense of luxuary.

My carry on bag is usually full of hair products, lotions, deoderant, makeup, perfumes, etc. I need some where to put that stuff. Plus, I usually travel with another female who also has a lot of stuff too.

I know it%26#39;s silly but for me a big bathroom kind of equals luxury. Having travelled to Europe, I completely understand where the term WC or water closet comes from because bathrooms in my Euro hotels are not larger than a closet! It%26#39;s only in the more expensive hotels that I found larger bathrooms.

Monte Carlo hotel good or bad

Wife, 2 friends and I are heading to LV in June, staying at the Monte Carlo hotel. Just wanted to get some input as to quality and conveyance. Plus if you could recommend we do one thing when out there what would it be, and nothing is out of the question, just don%26#39;t want to tie up the whole day. Since we will only be out there 3 nights.

Monte Carlo hotel good or bad

Do a search on this forum. You%26#39;ll find a lot of opinions on Monte Carlo...some bad, most good.

We stayed there, liked it a lot. Good location for seeing the South end of the strip. The tram is open now to the Bellagio, that will save a lot of time.

As for things to do: See the fountains at Bellagio, Fremont Street Experience at night is good, take the elevator to the top of the Paris, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. Hoover Dam is interesting for a half-day trip.

Again, do a search on this forum. There%26#39;s a ton of info...

Monte Carlo hotel good or bad

WIfe and I are staying at the Monte Carlo in middle June. This will be our first time there also. But, from what I have read on here that it is a very good hotel.

Recommendation for something to do: Check out the Freemont street area at least one night. GO downtown and gamble and have some fun.

Rike, when are you staying at the MC. We will be arriving on the 19th and leaving on the 22nd.

    Arriving June 17am departing 20pm

It is a great hotel. You get a 4-star hotel with 5-star service (best in town) at a 3-star price. The property is is very easy to navigate, has some great pools, and the casino is not as large or over crowded like most on the strip. We have some very good restaurants like Market City Cafe which has extremely good Italian, Blackstones Steakhouse, Dragon Noodle, plus a food court for fast food type items.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo last April and are going back for 9 days in July. We loved our stay here. It was very relaxing, excellent pool area and courteous staff. great views from room.(ask for a room as high as you can get) very good at offering free drinks in the casino and great live band in the bar. There is a coffee shop next to the food court which served excellent coffee, hot choc and smoothies -be prepared for queues in the morning. We would come back to MC again just for this coffee shop! Definately recommend doing a spa treatment, bellagio fountains (mon ami gabi restaurant in Paris is the best way to see fountains and enjoy great food) and premium outlet mall north of strip is definately worth a visit for a shoppihg spree! If you%26#39;re into clubbing we liked the house of blues in Mandalay bay.

I agree w/Vegashomeboy. The Monte Carlo is a great property. I stayed there last June and will be staying again in July. I don%26#39;t really see myself @ this point staying anywhere else.

Anyone know who the food is there?

Monte Carlo is a great place to stay. Classy without ';stuffiness';.

We%26#39;ve eaten at both the MC Brew Pub and Market City Cafe. Excellent! Blackstones (haven%26#39;t been there) is also supposed to be fantastic.

Stayed at MC twice in the past few months, and that%26#39;s where we%26#39;ll stay again!

Best Party and Young Adult Atmosphere

Looking for hotel on the strip which is in a good location and where the atmosphere that can provide a good and fun time for young adults (26 - mid thirties)?

Best Party and Young Adult Atmosphere

Hard Rock is great for that age group but it is off the strip. I think NY has a great, younger crowd.

Best Party and Young Adult Atmosphere

Rio, Palms, Hard Rock, or TI

Palms and Hard Rock are great... but off the strip. I would defintiely look into NYNY

NYNY all the way. Awesome atmosphere and good location.

NYNY is a great location! The club at Luxor is a hit with my younger family members age 22-28.

A good spot to hit it it is your first time there is the Fremont Experience. Plan to arrive around 6 pm and just have fun throughout the evening.

A coworker who booked at Hard Rock came back and told me she changed hotels after booking with Hard Rock because her room was dirty and the place was too too loud for them.

Paris and Bally%26#39;s both have small lounges that have nice music that draws a good crowd. Also, in the center of the strip.

birthdaygirl - go with VHB: Rio, Palms, Hard Rock, or TI... Hands Down... if price is a consideration, TI would be in the same range as NYNY and i%26#39;d definitely choose TI over NY for a younger, wilder crowd... (but i%26#39;d go Hard Rock all the way if it was in the budget)...

I stayed at TI in April and i%26#39;m 30 and it was not where the fun was--

NYNY is perfect for the 27-35 crowd.

The best young place is hardorck its like a big frat party, but for on the strip I would go NYNY, they have got coyote ugly, nine fine irishman, the piano bar and a bar with r and b, and you can shoot across the bridge to 54 at mgm. I would agree on the TI, other than tangerine the place is more for us middle agers.

don;t get me wrong i guess i would say i am middle aged-30 but i like the age group of about 25-40. we all like different things but i thought tangerine was a joke. the main part was not as big as my living area, and I still am wondering if it was after prom night-ha

An negative thought for Wynn Las Vegas, just an opinion

To start with i want everyone to know that i haven%26#39;t visited the property but have made reservations for a suite, dinner at boulud, wing le and tableau, plus purhased tickets for le reve. At the same time i made reservations at the bellagio, dinner at le cirque and purhased tickets for ';O';.

for these reservations i started the usual conversation and took care of the room frist then then dinner reservsations and last the show. then i had to add one more request and that was a refrigerator for the room for one purpose only and thats for a medication as i explained to both hotels i stated it was '; vials, injectable chemotherapy drug-toxic, bio hazard requires special handling, now we visit vegas 3 times a year for the last five years and have stayed at many properties. in the past year this hasn%26#39;t been a problem because my wife places the vials in several plastic bags and bleaches out the rifrigerator afterwards.

well this was wynns revervations reply '; you can place it in the mini bar refrigrator or you can rent one for 25.00 dollars a day do you want to rent one.'; lets get a handle on this would other quest like to have this place in with there cans of soda, beer or whatever ';i dont think so. the the reply from the bellagio '; sir the refrigerator is complimentary'; i need not to say any more, service is what counts not that you have to pay extra money to store your meds or even the thought of placing my meds in a mini bar

now to give some additional information for my reasons for reservations at wynn and bellagio, these reservations were made in early march before wynn even opened and i expected a few problems which seemed minor or mute at the time to be resolved by now, such as housekeeping not cleaning rooms even when requested to, quest giong several days without house keeping cleaning or making their beds. they refill the bottles in the bathroom instead of replacing them with new ones, who knows if the bottle of shampoo came from some eles room, if the sinks and tops were properly cleaned or when the bed spreads get cleaned i dont care about five pillows but i do care about finding socks or anything eles between the sheets.

if the little dinnette table was cleaned when the previous guest checked out, you know ';body fuilds';, bottles or lotions being refilled instead of replaced daily, dim lighting in the bathrooms, guest waiting in lines to eat at the restaurants even with tables available, slow serice, warm or cold food, traffic jams or long waits for access to wynn which mean higher cab fares, folks that have to park at the fashion show mall then walk to wynn, overlly priced shops, as one forum poster stated she payed 40 plus dollars for a couple bottles of water some sodas and a few candy bars.

the negative reviews on le reve from quest and newspapers stated that poeple leave the show trying to fiqure what it was all about and that it is ';dark'; not in lighting ';all i can fiqure out from an article that there is the devil, shamans, mannequins hanging from the ceilings, angles and nudity. which wont sit well with my wife.

how about this new one today 15.00 to access the car dealership on property'; you get a free hat big deal';. 6-5 blackjack and cramped seating at the slots. The plus side is a large room with nice beding, small bathroom with dim lighting, low shower heads, and no hot water, per a couple of forum reviews.

Why this trip has to be special, first its our 30th anniversary and second it%26#39;s my 50th birthday, so i expect our trip to be special and hasssel free.

My wife and i don%26#39;t really care about the cost associated at wynn, because you get what you pay for in my book and we%26#39;re not looking for anything for free. but we are looking for a hassel free trip and wonderfull service. a person can walk through a casino all night long and be greeted by employees with smiles , but what counts is the services for the quest not an apology or a 100.00 reimbursement because housekeeping didnt get to your room to clean it. your dinner came cold or that you had to wait even with a reservation is is fine for some folk and so is waiting in line at disney world.

my wife and i were in vegas feb of this year and we made our trip over to Bellagio to play the tables and slots while i was at a table a host walked up and waited untill i finished my play and introduce herself to me and ask if i had a players card i told her that i had been there a few times and never got one so she asked if i would like one and i told her yes, then she asked for an id and told me good luck and she would return. the host came back a few minutes later with my new card and waited untill i was finished and handed it to me. i will tell you this i%26#39;m not a high roller either. now thats the kind of service thats counts, every one at the bellagio was very helpful.

i know from the forum, that local expert VHM declined a management position from steve wynn to manage wlv, i was told of time requirements from a post and the one priority on his or hers number 1 list is a daughter, and by no means i%26#39;m not suggesting that this persons job isn%26#39;nt a priority. i commend this person for wanting to spend most of their free time together, so much has happened in their lifes. i have always found VHM, VM and VHB posts to be on the money. last week VM answered a post and stated he hadn%26#39;t been to wynn yet so he couldn%26#39;t give any info on wynn i dont know if time limits keeps him away or maybe to many people i dont think he gambles much at all, maybe i can assume its not that impressive. by no means i%26#39;m no expert on vegas but i%26#39;v been to alot of the hotels and restaurants but thats another post.

so my thoughts to wynn las vegas for june ';NO WAY'; maybe next year when wynn runs a tigher ship and people stop sucking up to him just to get a picture or to say they shock his hand. maybe to boast to someone they stoled a piece of wynn to impress people. another forum post, missing tiolet paper roller, the roll of tp was sitting on top of another dispenser.

some people are impressed by a name, because he%26#39;s so and so it%26#39;s got to be grand, but others are impressed by the service that you pay for and i%26#39;m one of those people and i will leave a hotel in a minute for bad service and tell everyone i know by word of mouth and never return. SO NO WYNN THIS TRIP !!!

An negative thought for Wynn Las Vegas, just an opinion

So...are you 3 sheets to the wind, or is it just me?

An negative thought for Wynn Las Vegas, just an opinion

Well heck Chuck, with a ramble like that I bet you musta been at the sauce as much as I have tonight.

Glad to see you took a long time to arrive at an easy decision.

Have fun at the Bellagio !

    Jinx !

    Ha ! Callie !

thanks, i really wanted to give wynn a chance, and i should know better with a new resort, that it was going to take time.

i know i was rambling on with some of the post. but what can i say. the next one will be shorter and more to the point '; trip report for june but i will stop by the wynn just to say i seen it.

    Heh Chuck,

I would really be annoyed about being charged for a fridge too, especially for the reason you need one.

It%26#39;s probably better to wait until the kinks are worked out before going to a new hotel.

However that being said, My husband and I just got back from spending 5 nights at the Wynn and absolutely loved it. We had a panoramic room on the 57th floor with an amazing view of the strip. You can just lie in bed and see everything. I loved the room, the shower with the bench, the vanity area in the bathroom so I could get ready while watching the plasma tv, the comfortable bed. Even the little things like the high powered blow dryer and the iron with a retractable cord.

I keep reading about people complaining about housekeeping not cleaning their rooms. We had the opposite problem, they kept trying to get in our rooms. A couple of times they knocked just to make sure everything was ok.

We saw La Reve, and I didn%26#39;t really understand it either, but I still enjoyed it.

We ate at Bartolottas (sp?) and SW Steakhouse and had amazing meals at both. The water show at the steakhouse was very cool, I%26#39;ve never seen anything like it.

I%26#39;ve got to stop typing because it%26#39;s so late here, but it was a very nice trip. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a great time at the Bellagio.

    vbgirl

thanks for the reply. it sounds like you had a great time. we will give wynn a try next spring.

    ';To start with i want everyone to know that i haven%26#39;t visited the property';

The above sentence says it all. What in the h**l are you talking about????

How%26#39;d you get those drugs on the plane chuck?

    vegasluvr

first of all i try and read all the post positive or not

from there i try to use a postive outlook

right now there %26#39;s still to many kinks at wynn for this occassion

i%26#39;ve seen quite a few online photos of wynn and it looks spectacular from the outside, the inside floors look great so do many other casinos and so on

if you have any insight to the property i welcome any positive comments

    insanemxer

i only take 3, 50 mg vials with me, the needles and other meds go in the travel bags. if they get lost i can go to any va in the country and get refills. havent had a problem yet, its just that they have to be disposed in a red bio container which every hotel has and will furnish free, but maybe not the wynn but i didnt ask either.
